Jeff Patin was trained as both a mason and carpenter by the many talented craftsman in his family. This trade experience allowed Jeff to pay for 100% of his college tuition through money saved working construction on weekends and summers. Jeff moved to Houston after graduating from LSU with a B.S. in Finance and worked for nearly 15 years as an energy commodity trader of electricity, natural gas, and crude oil. In 2009, Jeff returned to Baton Rouge and purchased a 50% interest in a well-respected construction firm founded by his brother Chris in 2002.
Chris grew up working as a carpenter in his father’s small residential/commercial organization and was able to pay for his college education using the skills he was taught. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Construction Management from LSU. Chris worked for several larger construction firms through college and went to work in the petrochemical industry for ten years after graduating from LSU in the early 90’s. With the desire to start his own contracting firm, Chris started Christopher M. Patin Construction, LLC in early 2003 with licenses in residential and commercial construction and later in heavy highway construction. Realizing the growing business demands, Chris partnered with his brother Jeff in 2010, who had returned home from a thirteen year career trading energy commodities in Houston, and they changed the name of the company to Patin Construction Group, LLC.
